Do you know how to get a mount in EverQuest 2? If you want to find the answer, then you just need to follow this short article.
Mounts Introduction
Mounts are personal modes of travel. When you get a mount, it will automatically appear in the Mounts tab of your character sheet. In order to equip a mount, you must open the Character window (press C to open it) and drag the icon of the mount you want to use into the equip slot. After it's equipped you will summon the mount using the saddle icon in the character sheet (an ability you can also drag to a hotbar for easy access). Mounts will temporarily disappear any time you ride another form of transportation that flies or runs, such as a griffin, sokokar, horse, or cloud, but will automatically reappear once you land. They also temporarily disappear any time you climb a wall. In some zones, your mount will temporarily disappear from view until you zone out again but still provide the benefit of any stats bonuses. For example, many crafting, dungeon and raid zones have this effect.
How to get a mount?
Each of the new player cities has a mount available through their newbie quest series. Higher level characters can generally also run these quests to obtain the mounts as long as they haven't already completed the quests required. It is possible to get the mounts from each of the cities or pick one up from a city other than your own starting city, it just takes a bit of travel!
New Halas - Frostfang Sea
If you are already questing through here then you might just end up picking up your mount without even trying. If you are looking to pick up one of these newbie rewards then you can obtain the quest by completing the series with BelkaThunderheart in the cave at the Great Shelf. Her series will lead you to Thirin Veliumdelver at the Cragged Spine. After completing a couple of his quests, quests will open up for Knut Orcbane nearby and he is the one you want! Follow the series and you'll finally get to the quest "Sometimes you Feel Like a
Knut": Once you get inside the cave, equip the hat and "listen" to Griz. His voice should lead you to /waypoint 89, -67, 125. You'll spot a sack near here that you need to click on. You'll be attacked by an unknown source but it doesn't really do a lot of damage. Make your way towards /waypoint 245, -53, 55. Inside the wagon is a black box you need to gather. Your reward is a very nice white horse with a green saddle and a 25% run speed.
Newbie City Mount Quests - (level 15-20) These are definitely the best option for low level characters. These quest series award a 25% run speed horse for relatively little work.
Maj'dul carpet quest - (level 50) Flying carpet with 40% run speed increase.
Dire Warg quest - (level 60) Warg mount with a 45% run speed increase. The quest opens up the merchant so you will need to have a little plat handy. Rilissian Soldier Mount quest (level 70+)- Rhino mount with a 55% run.
Finally, hope this short guide can help you to get your own mount.
