Zenless Zone Zero is preparing for another major update as Version 3.2, "Their Secret Histories," launches on September 9, 2026. The update will introduce the brand-new Armorer Specialty alongside two new S-Rank Agents, Claret and Roxy, while continuing the story in Vyrium with new mysteries surrounding Flint Workshop, TOPS, and Helios Academy. With fresh Signal Search banners also arriving, players planning to pull for the new Agents may want to prepare their resources in advance, while those who need additional currency can Top Up Zenless Zone Zero Monochrome through Z2U. Players can also expect returning S-Rank Agents, free Angels of Delusion outfits, limited-time events, Operation Bagel additions, combat optimizations, and login rewards.
HoYoverse officially revealed Version 3.2 during the "Their Secret Histories" Special Program on August 28. The update is scheduled to arrive on September 9, 2026.
Version 3.2 stands out in particular because it expands the game's combat system with an entirely new Agent Specialty rather than simply adding more Agents to existing categories.

Version 3.2 continues the main story with "Their Secret Histories." The Proxies and their companions travel to Vyrium, a special zone of the Shrouded Reef, as they search for a way to further treat the mutated power within their body.
Their investigation soon uncovers a much larger problem. Roscaelifer, despite appearing heavily protected, has apparently been secretly infiltrated by TOPS.
At the same time, a shipment of Porcelloy belonging to Flint Workshop disappears at a transfer station. Workshop head Claret Flint and her assistant Roxy Ifrita Pryce begin investigating the missing shipment, eventually drawing the Proxies into the case.
The investigation leads toward a covert research facility with deep connections to Helios Academy.
Lindverne Sunbringer, Administrative Director of the Airspace Patrol Department, also asks Claret to investigate clues involving Porcelloy within the remnants of Girtablullu. The story will gradually reveal secrets involving Sunbringer, a mysterious "old classmate," and an "old friend" reunited after many years.
This makes Version 3.2 an important continuation of several ongoing plot threads rather than a self-contained side story.
One of the biggest additions in Version 3.2 is Claret, an S-Rank Electric Agent and the first playable character belonging to the new Armorer Specialty.
Claret is the head of the Flint family and Administrative Director of Flint Workshop. More importantly for combat, Armorer introduces a new playstyle built around balancing offensive and defensive capabilities.
Unlike conventional damage dealers, Claret's skill damage uses DEF as its base damage multiplier.
Her core combat loop revolves around several new mechanics:
Attacks accumulate Gash on enemies.
Once enough Gash has accumulated, the target receives the Gash status.
Certain skills can then trigger Maim.
Maim deals additional damage and provides a Laceration DMG boost.
DEF becomes one of Claret's major offensive stats.
Armorer Agents can use Counter Assist against certain enemy Control Skills.
This creates a character-building approach that differs significantly from many existing ZZZ damage dealers.
HoYoverse has also intensified Claret's pre-release promotion, releasing her Character Demo on September 4, followed by the "Link Up" EP and an official combat mechanics introduction ahead of Version 3.2.
Another defining part of Claret's kit is multi-CRIT.
Normally, players might consider CRIT Rate beyond 100% unnecessary. Claret changes that rule. When her CRIT Rate exceeds 100%, the excess can contribute toward multi-CRIT, with the mechanic using Laceration DMG instead of conventional CRIT DMG for its calculation.
Her initial CRIT DMG can also be converted into initial CRIT Rate at a certain ratio.
As a result, three stats become particularly important when building Claret:
DEF
CRIT Rate
CRIT DMG
The combination of DEF scaling, Gash, Maim and multi-CRIT gives Claret one of the most unusual combat systems introduced to Zenless Zone Zero so far.
Claret is not the only new Agent coming in Version 3.2. The second half of the update introduces Roxy Ifrita Pryce, an S-Rank Wind Stun Agent and chief smith of Flint Workshop.
Her gameplay centers on a mechanic called Eyes of the Storm.
By holding her EX Special Attack, Roxy can create a tornado and form an Eye of the Storm on the battlefield. She can then gather and detonate Eyes of the Storm to create a much larger tornado.
Her Ultimate expands this concept by generating multiple tornadoes and unleashing a powerful large-area attack against enemies in front of her.
While Claret focuses on DEF-based damage and the new Armorer mechanics, Roxy brings a Wind Stun playstyle built around tornadoes, battlefield effects, and area attacks.

Version 3.2 will be divided into two Signal Search phases.
During the first half, the new S-Rank Electric Armorer Agent Claret will debut. S-Rank Agent Nangong Yu will also return.
The second half introduces Roxy, while Promeia receives her rerun.
Their corresponding Exclusive W-Engines will also be featured.
| Phase | Featured New Agent | Returning Agent |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | Claret | Nangong Yu |
| Phase 2 | Roxy | Promeia |
This gives players four notable S-Rank options across the version, so Polychrome planning could become particularly important for anyone interested in both the new Flint Workshop Agents and the returning characters.
Version 3.2 will also begin a series of opportunities to obtain Angels of Delusion faction outfits for free.
The Surprise Screening Plan is an additional 14-day check-in event. By completing designated check-in missions, players can select an Angels of Delusion outfit.
Another outfit is connected to Clink, Clank, Pinball Knight! Completing the event's Challenge Mode allows players to claim an additional outfit through the Angels Support Operation page.
HoYoverse has indicated that related outfit rewards will extend across Versions 3.2 and 3.3.
Several limited-time activities will appear throughout Version 3.2, and they cover much more than conventional combat.
Players team up with Kahkiboo to craft and play with an artistic pinball machine. The event is particularly important because completing its Challenge Mode is tied to one of the free outfit rewards.
This is a virtual pet-raising event in which players raise an Orbie and complete related tasks, offering a more casual change of pace from combat-focused content.
This Booastrum detective event focuses on Detective Crow and Hobble, giving players another investigation-themed activity.
For players who prefer combat, Shadow Chase Showdown is an HIA virtual combat event featuring battle challenges.
Rewards from Version 3.2 events include Polychromes, Tuning Calibrators, and other progression materials.
Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel will receive a standard season update in Version 3.2.
The update introduces content such as:
New Z-Rank Valuables
New Character Gear
Advanced Challenges
Server-wide rankings
Season Mission resets
New season-limited large-capacity inventory
New Proxy accessories
Tactical Prisms for Claret and Roxy
Armorer Specialty General Gears
A new item called the Break-Even Beacon is also being introduced.
When activated, it summons a Bangboo that carries away some Supplies in advance. Even if the player later fails to extract, those transported Supplies will not be lost and will still count toward the current round's Supplies tally.
HoYoverse has also confirmed that a larger themed season update featuring new maps, systems, and high-difficulty challenges is in development. However, that larger update should not be confused with the standard season update arriving in Version 3.2.

Version 3.2 includes several useful system changes beyond new Agents and events.
The Beginner Guide will add Jane, Hugo, and Soldier 0 – Anby. Players who did not claim the Agent self-select perk during Version 3.1 will be able to select one of these Agents after updating to Version 3.2.
After completing the Phase 2 missions, eligible players can also select a corresponding Exclusive W-Engine.
Existing Agent Koleda will receive an enhancement as well.
Perfect Assist indicators are also being standardized:
Golden flashes consistently trigger Defensive Assist
Red flashes consistently trigger Evasive Assist
The VR Training Room will additionally receive an Armorer-exclusive training stage, giving players a dedicated environment for learning the new Specialty.
A new W-Engine called Bloodmarrow Coffer is also being added to City Fund Benefits and will be redeemable in future versions using the Great Builder's Certificate.
Players who log in during Version 3.2 can receive a cumulative total of:
10 Encrypted Master Tapes
10 Boopons
These rewards add another incentive to return when the update launches, especially for players planning to pull for Claret, Roxy, or the returning S-Rank Agents.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.2 is shaping up to be much more than another banner rotation. The September 9 update expands the main story through Vyrium and Flint Workshop while introducing Claret, Roxy, and the entirely new Armorer Specialty. Claret's DEF scaling, Maim, Gash, and multi-CRIT mechanics could create new approaches to character building, while Roxy brings her own tornado-focused Wind Stun gameplay.
Combined with free Angels of Delusion outfits, several limited-time events, an Operation Bagel season update, Beginner Guide improvements, Koleda's enhancement, Perfect Assist changes, and login rewards, "Their Secret Histories" has plenty for both returning and active Proxies to explore. Newcomers who want a different starting point for exploring the latest content can also Buy Zenless Zone Zero Account options on Z2U based on their preferred characters and progression. With the mysteries surrounding TOPS, Helios Academy, and Sunbringer also moving forward, September 9 should be an important date for both Zenless Zone Zero's gameplay and its ongoing story.
