MiG-21bis "Lazur-M"

MiG-21bis "Lazur-M" is an export version of the famous aircraft that was delivered to the German Democratic Republic in 1975. In the GDR Air Force, the MiG-21bis delivered from the USSR were divided into two subtypes dependant on the configuration of the avionics: with the Lazur-M guidance equipment and with the Polet-OI pilot navigation system. Aircraft equipped with a Lazur-M guidance equipment were intended for air defense. The fighter is armed with a 23 mm cannon. The suspended weaponry is represented by R-3S, R-3R, R-13M or R-60MK “air-to-air” missiles , or S-24 and S-5K unguided rockets, ZB-500 incendiary bombs and also 100, 250, 500 kg caliber bombs. In terms of countermeasures, the MiG-21bis "Lazur-M" is equipped with chaffs and flares.
